happy birthday 19th amendment

90 years ago today, women got the right to vote... which when you think about it, seems impossible to think about a time when we didn't.

But in 1920, times were a changin'... and the government caught up with the society. So now in 2010, you would think we would have equal rights for all citizens... but we don't. Now, when you think about that, it seems even more impossible. I guess we will always have a lot of catching up to do.

Without the 19th amendment, there would be no Nancy Pelosi's. No Sarah Palin's. No Hillary Clinton's. No Greta Van Susteren's. There are plenty of people that would argue that the world would be a better place without any one or all of these politically charged women, but I for one... am glad they are all here. Just for the fact that they can be.
