i voted today... and the feeling i got as i walked out of the building where i exercised my american right in the cool breeze of fall, was amazing. i'm so thankful we live in a such a free and beautiful country. yes, we have our problems, but you know what one thing i think might help us? is if every election would be non-partisan, therefore you vote for a person, not a party. i have been registered as 'unaffilated' for most of my voting life. before that, yes... i know it's going to be hard to believe, i was registered as a 'democrat' as was my now republican parents.
and yes, when obama won in 2009 i was a bit overzealous and might have rubbed my blue status in some red faces. but like the very platform i believe in, change is good... and yes, i did.
we should not be blue states. we should not be red states. we should be the united purple states of america. how do we think we can solve the differences in other parts of the world, if we can't even conquer the differences in our own part of the world?
